There was already an undercurrent of change in how individuals and businesses managed the division of time between hours at the office and hours working from home. The undercurrent was small but growing and in 2020 it was radically accelerated by the Covid19 pandemic.

A policy has been announced by one of the UK's devolved governments to develop a network of “community-based working hubs”.
